To foster mental health and well-being in all spheres of human endeavour.
To have conversations around mental health and well-being, creating awareness, sharing knowledge and stimulating actions which positively impact human lives, transform organisations and change society.
The Conversation Conference is an initiative of Intersect Consortium, the largest consortium of mental health service providers in West Africa. The conference seeks to promote mental health and well-being by asking the right questions, focusing on the right people and stimulating healthy conversations around mental health. We harness insight from the conference, guided by the professional contributions of experts and empowered by appropriate data in impacting people, organisations and government.
Through The Conversation Conference, we create a sustainable, reliable and scalable platform which contributes to awareness creation, identification of service gaps and review of policy frameworks in the region.
This facilitates positive transformation in the access to, and provision of mental health services, products and systems at the individual, community and organisational levels. This epoch-making event will be held on an annual basis in consonance with the orientation of World Mental Health Day, an internationally recognised period set aside by the World Health Organisation (WHO) to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilise efforts in support of mental health. We believe that a world where everyone, irrespective of their race, gender, marital status, religion, occupation, ethnicity and political affiliation cares about mental health is possible - It starts with a conversation.
